One of the best ways to evaluate the quality of a school is to look at the success of it's students and faculty. Each year, the trade organizations for jewelers and related metal crafts host conventions and present awards for submitted work in a variety of categories. Since 1999, former and current students and faculty of the Howard Academy have managed to capture awards at many of these events.
A short list of the competitions in which we participate is as follows: - The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) hosts the Spectrum Award
- The Bench Jeweler's Association is a national organization that host the Passion Award Design competition
- Wisconsin Jeweler Association (WJA) holds a regional design competition for students and professionals called the Gemmie Awards
- Lapidary Journal Magazine hosts an International Design award competition
- The Platinum Gold International hosts the Platinum Honors
- Rio Grande hosts the International Saul Bell Design Awards
- World Titanium Council hosts an International Design competition
The topic category, "Awards" documents these achievements and we here at the Howard Academy are proud of the award winning work completed by our students and faculty. Some of the notable artists and frequent award winners who have taken seminars here include Sharon Choisier, Thomas Dailing, Karin Burg, Demetra Saloutos and Tom Every. |
