Workshops are $150.00 a day ($ 450.00 Total)

 

Description:An overview of the seminar contents includes the following:
  • Graver set up, sharpening and handle modification
  • Selecting right graver shape for job
  • Improvising needed gravers w/ nails & burs
  • Basic cuts & applications
  • Design transfer methods
  • Trouble shooting cut problems & correcting gravers
  • Carving pierced scrollwork
  • Rough stock removal on bevels & background
  • Finish cutting & surface treatments
  • Polishing & finishing
  • Bead setting, gypsy setting
  • Surface decoration
  • Seals, stamps and maker's marks
  • Trim & Finish Applications
Required Tools:
  • 10x loupe
  • Optivisor
  • Sharpening tools you use
  • Notebook or recorder
  • Drawing pencil/pen
  • Saw frame 8/0 or 6/0 & 4/0 saw blades
  • Old burs to rework
  • 8 gravers & handles
  • Drill bits .7mm (7/10)

If you need tools we can supply them, but please inform us in advance.

 

Required Materials:

We will supply practice materials, copper, silver, brass. If you want to try gold, bring sheet or a work piece to be engraved
