The main entrance, at 3520, is reached by walking under a copper and steel portico 35 feet long. It?s arched copper roof is held by pierced steel trusses patterned to echo the Roman rivets decorating the canopy face at the street end of the long portico. Fluted capitals and forged iron scrolls top 6 steel pillars that anchor the portico to the earth to resist the famous winds of Chicago. The main doors are framed by two massive, forged iron, scroll work brackets; each embellished with a hand forged brass lamp.
